Hello World!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I am Tanusree Das, a researcher, writer, educator and a curious learner from Bangladesh. My academic journey began with Literature in English. My interests have gradually travelled far beyond the boundaries of a single discipline. I find myself drawn to questions of gender, migration, minority experiences, culture, belonging, memory and the stories that often remain unheard.

Writing has been one of the ways I have learned to think. Research allows me to ask questions; fiction allows me to explore the emotions, contradictions and silences, behind them. Teaching meanwhile has continually reminded me that knowledge is most meaningful when it can be shared.

There are other things that have shaped me too. I love travelling discovering places, dancing, experimenting with creative forms and learning things simply because they make me curious. I have never wanted my identity to be confined to a degree a job title or a single field of interest.

This website brings those threads together.

Here I will share my research and academic work, literary writing, travels, creative pursuits, reflections and things I am learning along the way. Some pages will be scholarly; others may be personal, creative or simply exploratory.

I don’t see this space as a portrait of myself. Rather it is a record of a journey—of ideas developing places being discovered, stories being written and a person continually becoming.

So this is where I begin.

Welcome.
